Contactless Reader Dual Use

Is it possible to use the contactless reader with and without the dock simultaneously?

90% of the time, having it stationary in the dock works perfectly since most our transactions are dipped. There are some times where removing it from the dock and bringing it to a customer (4ft away) for Apple or Android pay would be convenient. Is it possible to use it for both?

Hmm, good question. Never tried using the reader in tandem btw docked and undocked. 

If the reader is undocked, it needs to be paired in the app settings with Bluetooth enabled on your POS device. If you insert it back into the dock, my concern is the Bluetooth signal disconnecting which means you'll need to repair it once taken out of the dock again.

Tried it today! Just had to pair it independently as well. It works in the dock as a stationary unit, then once removed from the dock, it disconnects the reader and then reconnects as the independent unit, then does the same once you place it back in the dock. So, it does in fact work tandemly!
