Can't create new tickets on iPad mini 2 and 3

Hi all,

 

been using square for a while now with no major issues.

 

We use open tickets with 14 tables already listed. When taking an order for a table, we add the items and then go Save > New Ticket This then brings up the list of tickets we can save the order to.

 

On our iPad mini 2 and 3 the pop up of the tickets that can be selected is appearing behind the current open tickets, and we cannot select a ticket to assign the order to.

 

This isn't happening on the iPad we use with Square stand.

 

I have attached a video which hopefully help explain it. It is happening in both landscape and portrait modes..

 

Obviously the problem goes away if we turn predefined tickets off...

Thank you for sharing the video @KennedysCoffee and sorry to hear you're running into this issue!

 

I haven't seen this myself so I want to check in with our team to see if they can look into this. Before I do so, can you let me know if:

  • The Point of Sale app is up to date (what's the current Point of Sale app version?)
  • The iPads are both up to date (what's the current iOS version on the device?)
  • Have you tried deleting and reinstalling the app to see if the issue would stop?

Hi, 

 

I have also spoken to customer support on the phone so there may be some crossover with your engineers etc..

 

The iPad minis have the most up to date iOS version possible (Apple has stopped producing updates for them though, as they are Mini 2 and Mini 3)

 

The apps are up to date - they updated over a week ago and the problem didn't occur directly after the update- as far as I am aware

 

Yes, I have tried deleting and installed the app.

 

The iPad Mini 3 is running  iOS 12.5.4

Thanks for letting me know @KennedysCoffee! This is actually an issue our team are tracking. They're working on a fix for this that will be included in the next Point of Sale app update. I'll be keeping an eye on this and follow up once I know the new update has been rolled out.
