App Randomly Shuts Down While Doing Loyalty Points

Hello!  We've been having an issue where the square app will randomly shut down after a transaction while we are typing in a guests phone number to add their loyalty points, thus not adding their points.  We also have been unable to search a guest to find out how many points that currently have/if they have any rewards available.  We used to be able to search a guests phone number or name, but now it won't narrow down the search, it only shows all of the guests.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!  Thank you!

Hey @RWhite, thanks for letting us know about this — I'm sorry for the disruption this must be causing.

 

If the app is unexpectedly closing when you're trying to look up a customer's reward please go through these troubleshooting steps for the Point of Sale app. Updating the app should help, but you have time I also recommend deleting and reinstalling the app (don't delete the app if you've taken payments in offline mode and haven't uploaded your payments yet!).

 

It sounds like you're also experiencing an issue when searching for customers by their phone number. Our engineering team is already working on a fix for this and it will be included in the next version of the app. This post has more details: Bug in Customer Search by Phone Number.
