App Crash During Split Payment

The POS app crashed during a split payment of cash and credit card. Once the app relaunch, the first part of the transaction (through cash) is nowhere to be seen, and of course, the itemlized list was lost, too. I had to charge the remaining on the customer's card manually. I understand that crash cannot be prevented 100% of the times, but there should be a way to keep a unfinished transaction in a cache or something so that if the POS app crashes, what hasn't been processed completely could be recovered.

Hi @toyssamurai. So sorry that happened. 😣

 

I'd make sure to go through these troubleshooting steps for the app so that you can make sure you're up to date where you need to be. Also, there are some instances where we're able to retrieve transaction history when these things happen. 

 

I'd suggest contacting our Customer Success Team to see if they're able to look into the crash log and resurface that lost payment.

Hi

Since the last update, Square has crashed several times when tapping "charge". No way to get out of the crash but force quit and relaunch. Anyone else having these issues?

We also still observe a lag after payment. When going back to the check out we see the last transactions as if it hadn't been paid for a few seconds before it disappears... Not too excited about the last update...

What type of device is experiencing the crashing (Square Terminal, Stand, or Register)?
