Address Update Confirmation Email

We updated a delivery address on an order recently, however the confirmation email sent to the customer on dispatch still showed the old address. Should the updated address have shown on the email sent out after the changes were made? Does anybody have any experience or thoughts with this they could share?

Hey @doc_choc, thanks for your post. Great question!

I am going to take some time to investigate and test this on my own account to see if the delivery address changes on the confirmation email once altered in the system. I'll get back to you once I have more information.

Hey @doc_choc, thanks for your patience.

Just out of curiosity - how did you go about changing the delivery address for this order on your account? Was it an online order or was the order taken over the phone? I just tried placing an order on my online site and wasn't given the option to change the customer's address.

It was an online order. On the dashboard under orders, click the order, side bar pops up, select the three dots at top of side bar, under actions you can edit the delivery address there. We changed the address here then set the order to dispatched.

If you need any further detail let me know.  ๐Ÿ˜Š

Thanks for that @doc_choc, I found it. I was looking in the wrong place all along. ๐Ÿ˜…

So if you change the order's delivery address to a new address, the new address will not appear on the confirmation email. Additionally, it is not possible to resend confirmation emails once the order has been placed.

As a workaround, you can print the order on the orders tab and this will allow you to download the document as a PDF. From there, you can manually send the PDF of the order to your customer using their email. The PDF will show the updated address.

Hope this helps!
