sku & barcodes

Does the barcode have to go in the SKU line?  What about the vendor's SKU number?  Where would you put that?  Currently, we use SKU for vendor number and VARIATION for our personal number.  I am going to setup a barcode scanner to add as another option for entering the item.  If I have to move the vendor's SKU to something else, where?  Worried about when I send a PO they will not see their SKU number and only the barcode and won't fill my orders.

Hey! Great question. So, the barcode number has to go into the SKU number and the vendor number has to go into the vendor section. The PO will display the vendor number for you, but you won't see it in any other place outside of editing that item. 

But, if you don't put the barcode number in the SKU section you will not be able to scan for your items at checkout.
