how to print price tags after applying discount

Hi. I have applied a 20% discount to all my items. Now I want to print the new price after the discount. How can I do that?

Hi there again @TheNest112 👋 Hope you had a good weekend! I appreciate your patience here while awaiting my reply.

Here's what the Product Team let me know: "This is a new feature request and we don't have a great workaround currently, unfortunately. For printing labels, we currently are only able to use the item price so the Seller would need to adjust the price for each item in order to print their sale labels with the marked-down prices."

Although this feature isn’t currently available with Square, it’s a great idea and I can see how it would be beneficial to your business. To learn more about how feature requests work, please see this post from one of our Seller Community Moderators.

In the meantime, keep an eye out for any updates in our Seller Community. We appreciate your input! 🙂

Not doable I'm afraid. The POS doesn't offer a sale price feature that can be visible and printed on barcode labels.

However, the discount is shown on the receipt. @JackRast

Would love to see this option added. I need to be able to print a sale price for items in my store so my customers know what the correct pricing is.

Hi @TheNest112 - Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Square Seller Community👋😊

How are you printing your item prices currently? Are you using a third-party application?

Please do let me know. I'll keep an eye out for your reply!

Hi Violet,

We are just printing our price tags through Square - no third party app.

In order to even put an item on sale on the POS side we have to create a discount which is very cumbersome not to mention limiting. I am already doing double work to maintain the POS side as well as the online side.

The option on the online side to add a sale price is perfect. If we could do this on the POS side it would be perfect.

In the meantime, even when I add a bunch of items to a sale category, I still cannot print the sale price on the barcode tag. When we put items on sale in the store, we typically print a new tag, on a red sticker, showing the sale price so that it is very clear to the customer that this item has been marked down. At this point I am having to print new red stickers then manually mark each one which is even more time spent on this process.

If there is a workaround please let me know. If not, please submit this feature request as it would be an incredible time saver for those of us who have brick and mortar as well as online.

Hi there again, @TheNest112 - Thanks for following up with those details 🙏

Hmmm...this is sounding like a feature request to me but I've just reached out to the Square for Retail Product Team to confirm. Additionally, I've asked if the workaround you're currently using with discounts is the best option if so.

I appreciate your patience while I wait to hear back! I'll be sure to follow up with you here with what I find out 🙂

I agree, people today can not do Math.

I have items that I want gone marked at 65% off the marked price.

Taking a $50 item down to $17.50

Then I hear a lady saying well this store has them at $25 each.  Her mom said but that would be 50% off this price, and these are 65% off the marked price.... these are a better deal.  Lady back to her mom, but there I can get 2 for $50.  Her mom goes must be some new math cause these are cheaper here by my calculation.  She then asked me what the price would be after the discount.... $17.50 I replied.  Which she said so I could get 2 for under $40 then.   Which I replied Yes.  Daughter said they still cheaper at 2 for $50.
