Sweet spot for Square in a Retail Store

Considering using Square for an art supply store with a fairly large array of products. It seems like all the promos for Square are for smaller product lineups. I'm currently testing out an Ecwid store which offers integrations with Square, but encountering some odd shortcomings of Ecwid. Many of the items, paints in particular, come in multiple sizes. Some that will be stocked and some special ordered. Ecwid can support the sizes, but not the special ordering and not the ability to export all the information about a product for editing in a spreadsheet.

Anyone have experience with 1000+ items in a store and integration with online sales?
