Square Retail Inventory Reports

We cannot produce an inventory report because costs are missing from deleted items. Is there a way to delete the deleted items from the report so we can generate an inventory report?  When we click on update costs on the screen, there are hundreds of items listed all beginning with the word (deleted).  When we go to our items inventory library - all items actually have their costs in place.
