Sometimes Small Changes have Big Impact! What small change had big results?
Hey retailers! I'm thinking about systems and processes and overall efficiency...
What’s one small change you made to your business that had a surprisingly big impact?

Automation.
I used Square Savings to save for things like Sales Tax and building upgrades automatically. Also, I set up auto bill pay for some of my consistent expenses. I also FINALLY set up stock alerts so I know to reorder before I run out of things. Then I moved on to setting up auto emails for birthdays, marketing, abandoned carts, appointment reminders, and "it has been a while". Then I moved into a membership model so I could just worry about doing facials instead of selling them. This was a record-breaking year for me even more so if you think for all of last year and the first four months of this year I was closed due to storm damage and construction on the building next door!

TV mounted on the wall when you walk in with a slideshow of our Aura Photography service. Literally tripled our monthly sales on auras.

I have been creating automation to make everything more efficient. I do quite a bit with the Square API.
My big next dream project integrated with the Square API will do as follows...
Transaction happens on Square Retail and automatically prints a barcode sticker that can be applied to the paper ticket for the order.
Then each step of the process, to fulfill the order, the barcode is scanned and updates the system regarding where the order is in the assembly line. There are five steps.
Think Dominoes when you order pizza online and can see the pizza being prepared, in the oven, out of the oven, etc.
Then on the final step, the barcode is scanned and automatically texts the customer that their order is ready, and updates the order in the system as completed.
At any time, the team can pull up a customer in Square and see the status of their order.
I am working on the beginning of this.
Would love input from anyone who works heavily on the API (as I do) and has any input.

This is not something we recently implemented, it was a few years ago. barcoding and scanners. We can ring a customer up so much faster and keep the lines moving, not to mention the savings of not having items rung up at a wrong price.
Now, what I would like to do next, We were in the Adidas store and when we walked up to the counter and laid our items down on the counter, they were scanned instantly with a RFID chip on the garment tag. I was like wait a minute show me how this works. I mean we were checked out in less than a minute.
Square engineers if you read this, Is this something that can be implemented with Square?
