I am struggling to come up with an efficient solution to getting my resale inventory into square. I had been using Rose Consignor Connect, but I was having issues with photos and entire items disappearing. I don't do much consignment, so that software didn't seem right for my business. I mostly buy outright. I input about 100 unique (and inexpensive) items every day.
I started using the "import library" function in square. I use the excel template to make a .csv file and upload items in bulk. This works just fine! My next dilemma is how to receive the items and print all the tags quickly. Square doesn't have functionality to print only the labels of recently entered items. I can't even sort by "most recent". I certainly can't search one by one, the way "print labels" works.
I like that you can print all the tags off one PO at once, so I tried using the "import" function in the Purchase Order area. I downloaded the template for this, and then I copy and paste the items over from my recently uploaded inventory batch, from the other excel sheet. Since these are resale items, they do not have SKUs or GTIN. Square automatically assigns a SKU after the items are imported to the library, but those SKUs aren't available to me in a convenient location. I would have to manually search for each individual item. Again, that would take WAY too long for hundreds of items daily.
For some reason, importing from the provided PO template is not working. I am repeatedly getting the message that my items cannot be found in the catalog. They most definitely ARE in the item catalog (which seems to be a synonym for library?). Each of my items has a unique name, and being able to find the items on the .csv file by item name IS a function that is built in. It just stopped working.
I spent a couple of hours yesterday, troubleshooting and working with support. Then, another hour and a half today. I am at my witts end because inventory is piling up and I can't process it! I wonder if there is a simpler solution? I do need each item to be unique because I have them for sale on my website. I know some resale shops simply call things a generic item like "boys pants $5.99", but I specifically use Square for the ability to have an integrated online store.
Do you have a good system? I need maximum efficiency over here!

I don't have near as much daily inventory as you but I do struggle with getting all up correctly so I can add it to my site.
After trying all kinds of things.... I started adding items via the CVS spreadsheet but ITEMS only not stock count. Because like you said no easy way to print labels that I've discovered. THEN I go in and make the PO. This adds to my inventory counts and I can just print all the items on the PO easily. Kinda double work but it ends up being less work for me in the long run. LMK if you find an easier way! I'd love to streamline the process.

THANK YOU! I'm so glad to hear someone else has a similar process (and actually understands what I'm talking about)
Do you manually type each item into the PO? Or do you import .csv with the template?
