Random Weight Bar Codes Not Being Read Correctly

We recently saw the updated page about connecting a bar code scanner, with the instructions clearly stating that it will read the SKU (5 digits) then read the following digits as the price.  My barcode scanner (SYMBOL LS2208) will read the sku, but then it asks me for price per lb.  When I enter the price per lb (which I'd like to avoid all together as our barcodes have the price embedded in them) it reads the item as exactly 1 lb and just puts the price I entered as the total price for the item.  We are a small butcher shop and have been waiting for this functionality for a very long time.  If someone could please give me some advice on how to get these items rang up correctly it would be greatly appreciated.  I should probably also mention, I've used the scanner to scan the barcode into a text document and its reading every number.  We have an ipad connected to the squarestand, it senses the barcode reader and starts right up, but is clearly not reading the price like we would want.  Thank you!

Hey @panizzerameatco! If you'd like to avoid entering a price per lb since it's listed on your labels, switch the unit type to per item on the edit item page.

I've tried that, but when I scan the item it says item is not weight based...

Hmm, okay. It's a bit tough to pinpoint the root problem here in the Community. since I don't have access to account specifics. Our CS Team will need to take closer look to comb through your item settings. Reach out here
