New to Square and need help migrating information

Hay There, Im new to square - i havent even had a full day of business with square 😕 yet.....  I need help migrating my information.  I would like to get all of my orders over paid or unpaid and just move it all so I can divorce Shopify ASAP.

Thank being said, I sell hay to people and deliver with my own drivers.  I had smart routes integrated to do the routing.  But Im confused on which Square I need.  Currently I have all of them.  Including shopify, zoho, quickbooks, xero, message bird, twilio, ring central, dialpad, and the list goes on and on.   I need to scale it down.  lol.  Any suggestions are great.  I feel like the texting customers through square is perfect.  Keep it all under one roof.  But I still want nice customer features with a subscription/membership model.

Thanks in advance.  Cheers!

Hello @hay2go thanks for your post. you have a great wealth of experience with different apps, much more than I currently use. I'd recommend getting started by taking a look at those, and write down which ones you could NOT do without using, and which feature in each app. You may start to find some overlaps between apps, and Square, so you could begin to transition to only Square.

There are a ton of features in Square that can help you manage your sales and stay in touch with your customers; from Square Invoices, Square Loyalty, Square Marketing (including texting). A big question I'd have is how many customers do you currently have? The more you have, the more work in moving them over, but maybe pick a starting date and use that to begin to use Square as each customer places a new order after that date, keeping current/old orders in your old apps until they reorder again.

Hi Charlie,

As I'm new to square, and also doing a lot reading in the community posts as to why some folks have migrated out of square website to Shopify. I noticed you mentioned,  you wish to "divorce Shopify ASAP."  May I know why you're looking to leave from Shopify?

This is just to help me decide if Square website is the right product for my friend's business.

Thank you

Cindy

@innerstar Hey!  Well, shopify is built for people that sell online and the customers pay for the product, and then its shipped.  I, on the other hand, get orders in via text, call, etc with online being the smallest percentage.  Therefore, I have customer cards on file (shopify doesnt do), and then I have net 15/ net 30 customers or people that don't pay me invoice by invoice, well shopify doesn't allow you to take a payment and use it towards multiple invoices.  So everything is double entry, nothing can be automated, and has become very exhausting.
