Team,
If I have items in my inventory and all of them items have sku's how would I combine more than one item to make one item but take out of the inventory?
For example, If I have a Black T-Shirt as an item and it has 7 different variations and I wnat the customer to be able to select that t-shirt to purchase...no problem I get this.
But lets say I sell designs and now I need to take one of those designs and add it to a black t-shirt and sell the design as a t-shirt and design combined.
Now I can take the shirt and the design and make a separate item for them to choose a size, that's not a problem either.
My Question is, how do i get my inventory to correctly deplete when the customer chooses that shirt and design combo.
If I make a separate item by combining them, i have to add inventory to those items to sell, which is fake since I already have them accounted for as a separate item. I want the item to deplete from the original inventory. I cant transfer the stock before its chosen because I need the stock in the store. I just want it to deplete from the store stock as its purchased as a combo?
Does this make any sense?

You would want to use Bundles, here is more information on that : 8057-create-managing-bundles-with-square-for-retail
Now here could be the problem. You design a Bundle for Small shirt and Design XYZ.....But customer wants Large Shirt and Design ABC..... you cannot currently let the customer mix and match items in a bundle. You would need a Bundle for EVERY combination you can think of, and then the customer will think of the 1 you missed LOL. The bundeling Square came up with is more for a store that has items that go in a Basket and then are sealed. Like we do a Basket and mix some Soaps and lotions and a candle into 1 basket or Gift bag. The customer sometimes goes I like this BUT could I have a Different Scent of Soap? That messes up the bundle feature for us. We just ring each item up individually then and apply a $ amount discount to get the price to the same as a bundle then.

You are correct. Bundles don’t irk for clothes. Tried that and it bundles all of the variations. So that don’t work. The way I do it works, which is creating another item with the shirts and design. But that doesn’t take it out of inventory unless I add it. However square thinks I now have 2, but only one in reality. Sigh….

I did just think of a way you may get this to work.
I am not sure on your pricing when a person buys a Shirt and a Design, But could you make a $ discount and apply that Discount for the Shirt and the design when purchased. This would be a Manual discount though.
So when a customer comes to the counter to buy a Lg T-shirt and wants MNO design you ring up the tshirt and then also ring up design MNO.... then press discount LG T-shirt with Design of $2.00. This would reduce inventory of the Lg Tshirt and of the MNO design. That is the best work around I have for you right now.
