Is it possible to use WooCommerce with Square for Retail?

I see that WooCommerce inventory management isn't compatible with Square for Retail. Is there a way to utilize the two? I currently use WooCommerce with Square POS but it isn't robust enough for my retail and inventory needs. How can I integrate the two successfully?

Hey @graficus and welcome to the Community!

I checked in on this and unfortunately there wouldn't be a way to do this because the two don't integrate.

WooCommerce is a third party with us but I do understand that it works better for your business as you mentioned.

I'm not sure if it would ever be compatible but I'm happy to pass the request along to our Retail team as a feature request!

Hi Ashley. Thank you for the reply and clarification. I would definitely like to request this feature. If Square for Retail is not compatible with WooCommerce is there a workaround to using Square for Retail with a WordPress site? I have my entire site built on WordPress and have purchased all the hardware to use Square but I definitely need the more robust features inherent in Square for Retail over the base option of Square POS. I really don't want to recreate the wheel but I'm struggling to find an option that works. Any and all suggestions are welcomed!

@graficus Thanks so much for sharing. I'm stepping in for the other Ashley here to  try and help a little further. While Square for Retail doesn't sync with WooCommerce it does Sync with our Square Online. I know it would feel frustrating to recreate your webpage, but if you want your items to sync this would be the best path.

Let me know if you have any other questions. 🙂

Are there added fees for using your website option? If I went this route, I’d want to keep my existing site and merely point my shop section to your website option. That said, would I be able to keep a custom domain name for the shop? I would want the website to appear cohesive and not be obvious the shop section is hosted elsewhere (if that makes sense).

Also, is there any integration to push your shop catalog to Facebook? WooCommerce has that option which gives me greater exposure and allows selling via Facebook and Instagram in addition to my website.

Trunk now supports syncing WooCommerce with Square along with other platforms: https://squareup.com/us/en/app-marketplace/app/trunk
