How to write off inventory without affecting end of day sales

If like me you have products that you use on display in your shop and need to write it off without affecting your end of day sales here’s what I do, as SQ doesn't have that option yet.

- Go to 'items', in your category create a “shop use” section.

- Then create the item you need to write off. I always start off with “shop use” then the name so it’s easy to search. In the space where you enter the retail price put 0.00, then enter the cost and the number of items you’re going to write off. Save

- Go to the main screen. In the search bar enter the name of your item. So for me it’s “shop use …..” - Add the item like normal, adjust the number of items and hit enter. The total is zero but your inventory is accounted for in your cost.
