How do a get an inventory report that shows only what I have in my shop; not what has already sold?

Whenever I print an inventory report it lists items that have been sold long ago.  How can I obtain a report that only shows what I have under my roof for sale?

@theblueflamingo you may want to visit Reports > Item Sales to see if this is more of what you're looking for. You can export and print the report. Or, you can simply go to Items and export your inventory. From there, you can filter out the items that have 0 inventory and only view what you have in stock.

If this isn't what you're looking for, please let me know what report you're currently exporting and I can take another look!

HI, I am using the inventory report, but shouldn't have to sort out anything. This system should be smart enough to provide a current inventory report, not a report of everything that has ever come thru the shop; eventually, the report will be 150,000 items!!! We're at 7,500 now....only 2 years in.

Same here. I Have 10,000 items. I need to do inventory. I would like a report that shows what I currently have in stock as of today. How can I run a report that shows this so I can compare what the system shows and what I actually have?

We are new to Square but quickly realized that the reporting has a lot of limitations because it's not a true ad-hoc reporting tool. Because we frequently find the need to customize reporting results, one of the options provided by @AshleyK has become our standard for setting up new business processes relying on detail or summarized data.

For item related reports we perform the following:

  1. Export the entire Item Library to Excel
  2. Turn on filtering for all columns in the spreadsheet
  3. Include/Exclude the results by changing the filter criteria

For a report of only items that have inventory, hit the drop down filter selection on the Current Quantity column(s) and deselect (remove the check mark) for the 0 (zero) value.
