Cost of Goods Changes

Hi everyone, hopefully this is an easy answer:

I have 10 items in current inventory of Product 'A' at $5.00 each Cost of Goods.

If the vendor has increased the COG by $1.00 each and I process a Purchase Order for 25 Product 'A's at $6.00 COG, when the items are received into inventory, will the original 10 x Product 'A' still report/sell at the original $5.00 COG, or will the $6.00 COG overwrite and all 35 Product 'A' have a COG of $6.00?

Essentially, will original COG apply to the current inventory it's attached to, or will new COG apply to the items when received into inventory?

Thank you in advance!!

Hi @SD_Exhibitions,

Thanks for writing in with this question about Square for Retail. I've reached out to the team to get clarification on this question and will be back in touch once we hear from the Retail team 🙂

Thank you for your patience, @SD_Exhibitions!

Your reports will reflect that the first batch of 10 products were priced at $5 and won't overwrite this after the price increase.

Please let us know if you have any further questions, we're happy to help 🙂
