Can you deactivate locations and not loose data?
When we set up Square we misinterpreted the use of locations. We have ONE location but we used the Square locations as AREAS within our one location. So we set up THREE areas (locations). We are looking at upgrading but not until I can get us to ONE location. What happens to the ITEMS that are in the three locations if I deactivate two of the locations. Two of the locations house items for a bar (glass, shot) and the third location has our inventory (bottle). Can I deactivate one of the glass, shot locations and not loose the items in the other? If I deactivate the third location (bottle) can I import the inventory and put it in the location I want to keep getting me down to ONE location?

Hi @TheBiscuitLoung,
Good question! I'd be happy to provide some more information.
The short answer is yes, you can absolutely deactivate your two locations and still be able to access all of your items from the intended location. To do this, we need only ensure that the items created under the other two locations are now available at either all locations, or the location you wish to continue using.
The quickest method to accomplish this is by navigating to your online Square Dashboard and accessing the Item Library. Once there, follow these steps:
1. Select all items by clicking the checkbox at the top of the item list.
2. Click "Edit items" located in the bottom-right corner of your page.
3. Scroll to the right to find the Locations details for each item.
4. You may notice some items have blue (clickable) text for Locations, while others are greyed out. The greyed out boxes are associated with item variations and will update according to the location set for the parent item.
5. Click on the location for each item and make your preferred selection until all items are set to be available from your intended location.
6. Once completed, click "Update" in the top-right corner.
Afterward, you can proceed to deactivate your two locations from your Account & Settings page. Remember, Locations can always be reactivated as needed, so there's no risk of losing any item details during this process.
