can you disable the "No Sale" function from the POS? It records as a transaction and it isn't.

Every time an employee presses the "No Sale" button to open the cash drawer it records this action as a transaction.  Which in turn reduces your check average, skews the actual traffic of the business day, etc.

The only thing that I have figured out to do is unplug the cash drawer plug which requires you to manually open and close the drawer for cash transactions.  This is not a good option for the long term.

I base my weekly scheduling on transaction counts and when I looked at the same period a year ago I discovered each day had about 20 "no sale" transactions.  I know square is recording it for potential theft, but they need to separate the "no sale" count from actual real transactions.

We manually subtract the daily no sales from our transactions and encourage employees to never open the cash drawer unlless they are doing a sale.

Hi Guys,

I’m having the same issue...I believe my employee is hitting no sale on the register some way and keeping the money...Have you figured out how a“no sale” transaction would come up????

Its another way to do it.... I just can’t find it out just yet

@Kellif, you should require employyes who hit the no sale key to print the no sale receipt, sign it and write a expanation on the back as to why they opened the drawer. This will discourage employees from doing it and also let them know you are watching.

@Kellif the "no sale" is not really a key its anytime the cash drawer is opened with no sale associated with it. Just hitting charge and confirming would be a no sale.
