When can orders be picked up?

So this is something that has never made sense...

 

We use the option of "Buyers pick a time within my pickup hours (e.g. Today at 12:30 pm)"

 

Yet the buyer is NEVER able to actually pick a time.  It assigns them a time and many times they have to call us or put in the notes they really don't need it until another time.

 

Why does this option give the illusion of buyer choice when they cannot actually choose a time within our pickup hours?  It just assigns them a time

Hi @CColotti - great question. The setting you're referring to differentiates between showing customers specific times (e.g. 12:30pm, best for restaurants), or, allowing them to see an all-day pickup window (best for other seller types, such as bakeries or retailers that allow customers to pick up anytime during business hours).

 

In order for buyers to be able to select a specific pickup time from a list, you must also enable the toggle for the setting "Do you want to let customers schedule pickup orders for future days?" on the same page. 

 

If you only want customers to be able to choose pickup times on the same day, enable the toggle mentioned above, and enter "0" for the number of days in advance that customers can order for pickup, which will restrict ordering to same-day only.

Oddly I did try the future to “0” and it still didn’t allow selection of a time of their choice.  It’s very much not intuitive as all the time tickets come it with 11:20 and a note that says “do t need until 12:00” which they messes with the KDS reporting times for the team.  It’s just not right it’s that complicated.   The setting says to allow them to choose so it should do what it says.  End of story. 😕

Okay I tried again and maybe it just did not sync yet.  They have moved settings around and syncing change sis taking quite a while now, but yes it pops up with the available pickup times only for that day.  We can't do it more days out b/c we change location and have to update the address each time in the fulfillment settings
