At Square we are constantly looking for ways to improve our products and services. Over the last couple of months we’ve interviewed some of you to better understand why you chose to run your business with Square for Restaurants.

 

We’d like to continue learning from you by sharing the following survey. Our objective is to develop a better understanding about the things that Square for Restaurants does well today and those that we can improve on. Hi @lucasisaza one more issue with Square For Restaurants:

 

There is no way in the POS to redeem customer discount codes or rewards sent via Marketing campaigns.

 

Example: Whenever an email campaign is used to bring back or attract customers, the system auto generates a discount code for the customer to redeem. While they can redeem online, they can not redeem it in store. There are no options available in Square for Restaurants POS where our employees can enter such codes for redemption. We are having to give customers cash discount to match the offer but that does not redeem their codes.

 

We are paying an extra subscription for Marketing and hoping to generate more business through email campaigns but cant use these redeem those codes in Store using Square for Restaurants

Hey thanks for the comment. This is functionality that we need to improve. In the meantime you can redeem discount codes by going to Actions > Rewards > Use Code in the POS. This functionality is unfortunately somewhat hidden but I hope this helps!

Ability to create "combos" from existing items...

In short, let us be able to build a "burger combo", for example, from burger, fries, and drink that are already in our item library.  We should be able to set the price and have this be available in POS.

I am going to 2nd the addition of swiping and pre-authorizing cards so we can give them back to customers and verify valid cards in advance.  

 

EVEN BIGGER TO ME (and I can't seem to find old posts on this) - I would like to be able to enter MY COST of items so I can actually use inventory management and COGS within the one system.  I would request that the inventory and COGS would be based on SKU (preferably) or the ability to do it this way.  Otherwise I would settle for by item.  I have to manage inventory and cost in a separate system to tie together in a spreadsheet.  If there is a way to do this - I'd love someone forever if they could clue me in!  🙂  Thanks!

The printers disconnecting from the POS during busy times is becoming a bigger issue as it is effecting our tickets times and guest experience. It's getting to the point that we might have to go back to Toast. Is there an update on how we can rectify this issue?
