Untracked employee for restaurant

We have come across this issue several times and I have combed through all the threads and have not found a recent fix or explanation.

Each of our servers are required to use their specific pin to enter transactions. I purposely set the screen to time out after each sale so other servers do not mistakenly place an order under another server's profile.

Each server runs their Shift Report and turns in the correct amount of cash, according to their report (they use server banks). The last server runs the Close of Day. This amount is sometimes off by a few dollars +/- and I have found sales attributed to "untracked employee" by looking at the dashboard.  How is this so if each employee has to use a pin to access the Square app? How do I prevent this?

@cathymc11 Does your restaurant allow online ordering?

Ding ding ding! That's exactly it. Now the trick is figuring out how to assign those orders to someone so they get the credit for the sale and the tip. I've gone through the online settings and I can't seem to find how to go about this. Any ideas?

Thank you!!

@cathymc11 I am glad we figured out the mystery!

So I know there is a very short window that you can edit a server on a ticket. But again I have read its a very short window. As far as assigning someone the tips for the transition I am not sure that's possible. Depending on how you do the tips maybe you can just manually add them to whoever you are wanting to. Or if you do tip pooling it should automatically go into the pool and be distributed.
