Take over existing POS

We are purchasing an existing cafe. They use square POS with a menu. What is the best way to take over the account?

Hi Leeannt,

Congrats on your new adventure.  Please understand that the Community does not provide legal advice, that's for the professionals, you may want to seek some legal and tax advice first.  Square does have info here on the transfer process, suggest you read the details.  Personally, you're better off starting fresh with your own account but, that's just my thoughts.  You should be able to use all of the existing Square hardware, it would be a good idea to reset everything.  As for the data from the previous account, it is possible to export items (CSV file) from the original account and import them to your new account.  Info like employee data and other account data I believe cannot be transferred.  Maybe some other Community members have some additional thoughts.
