Remove order total on ticket
This didn't used to happen few years ago, but in the past few months we noticed that pickup orders have the total the customer paid printed on the top of the order ticket. We have tried everything to get rid of it and eventually found out from Square support that it's not possible, but if there's support among sellers, it could be a future feature update and we were told to post here and ask.
Basically, when a customer orders from us, we use the order ticket printed as the pickup slip on the bag for them to confirm it's theirs when they pick it up as well as for us to confirm that all the items are included in the order. This is the way we do it for all customers, whether for pickup or takeout. Since the change (not sure when exactly), the order total prints on the ticket and that is public for anyone who comes in to pick up an order. We have some customers who order at the same time as friends and when they order the exact same thing, the order can differ depending on how much tip they pay, which I find to be extremely tacky and potentially embarrassing. I'm tempted to mark the total out with a sharpie but that would then draw attention to it even more.
We use the ticket to pack the orders so we can't just use the ticket stub, and during busy times it would be quite a waste of time to use both the ticket and the stub just to remove the total cost from the top. I would prefer it just prints out like the POS orders do with no total at the top, and "paid" at the bottom.
Does anyone else find the order total at the top of pickup order tickets to be inappropriate and off-putting to customers? The bottom of the ticket shows whether it's paid or not and if we want to see the total we can look at the receipt. The order ticket doesn't show prices for each item, and I assumed it was for privacy reasons.
If there's enough support maybe they will change it back to the way it was!
