We need the ability to mark modifier ingredients out of stock instead of having to delete them from the modifier. I have known other POS systems that allowed this.
To be able to mark modifiers as unavailable would be a game changer. For example we have modifiers for almost every dish at our restaurant, and currently if we sell out of something we delete the modifier. To give a more specific example- we sell Mexican bottled sodas and have around 7 modifiers for the different types of soda. If I sell out of Mexican coke I have to delete that modifier and then remember to recreate when it's back in stock. Would be great to toggle availability on & off as we do for items, especially as supply chain issues seem to be more frequent these days.
@elponce yeah, that's basically some of our issue. I don't know your business, but maybe it would be worth making those individual items instead so inventory could be tracked and they could be marked out.
@gemcityjunction that would be a good workaround, unfortunately we have so many menu items that modifiers allow us to have a better online checkout experience, as well as to make it easier for our servers. We are a Mexican Restaurant, our menu is four pages and has modifiers on almost every item.
Agree 100%. I've been asking for this for a while and don't understand why this continues to be something Square cannot provide. Deleting the modifier makes it easy, but then you have to remember to put the modifier back.
I'd love this idea, and to take it to a new level, it would be even better if Modifiers had an option for Inventory Management like Items do. I have quick service Ice Cream shops and the way I set it up so we could do Online Sales is by the scoop, so when flavors or specialty cones run out I have to get on a laptop, or worst my phone which I have to use the "desktop" version with tiny words, remove these modifiers while I have a huge line of people.
