Is there a way to turn off or disable the guest seating cover count?

The title of this thread has been edited from the original: disable guest count.

Is there a way to disable the guest count pop up that occurs with every transaction before payment? This slows down the ordering. Or is it possible to default it to "1" guest? I often will choose "no covers"

You’re able to turn off the Seat Tracking and Cover Count settings by following the steps below. 🙂

  1. Sign in to your Square Dashboard and navigate to Settings > Device Management > Points of sale > POS Devices.
  2. Click on your device, this will bring up the Edit Device page.
  3. Under Seating, turn off Track Seating.
  4. Click Save.

I can only get as far as Device Management. There is no option to edit points of sale or POS devices. There is no seating or track seating option. Please add more information.

From your screenshot, it looks like you may be on the Printer Profiles tab? Does the screen change if you click on Device Profiles, and then from there can you click on one of the device names to see more options?

I was able to edit the seating and also able to create a device profile however editing a device, an iPad, was nearly hidden in the right side drop down menu. Perhaps it’s due to the browser (Safari). Thank you for your help.

To edit seating options in Square, log in to your Square Dashboard, navigate to "Devices" > "Points of Sale" > "Floor Plans", then select the floor plan you want to modify; from there, you can click on individual tables to change their size, position, or even add new tables to adjust your seating arrangement as needed.
