Do Online Store Prep Times combine in the shopping cart?

Hey guys, I'm having a little trouble tracking down a thread that discusses this, so I thought I would create my own. I'm in the process of setting up online ordering for my two coffee shops, and I had a question about prep times.

If I manually set different prep times for my items, will they all be added up when someone goes to check-out for multiple items? For instance: If I put the prep time for a breakfast sandwich to be set at 15min, and a latte to be set at 5min, would the prep time automatically be listed at 20min if someone placed an order for both items? I'm assuming it would, but how does it work if a customer buys multiples of the same item?

Let's say someone places an order for three breakfast sandwiches and three lattes. Would the prep time still be 20min, or would all of the individual items be combined together resulting in a prep time of 1hour? Obviously with a business that thrives on efficiency, it's very important we get this right.

If you have any knowledge on the subject, a response would be sincerely appreciated.

Thank you!

Hey @WadeBCB,

I reached out to the Weebly team for clarification and they said it should use the longest prep time listed but won't combine them all as that could make for one really long one.

( edited to add your tag @ashc ) We need an option to combine the prep times. A simple toggle would work. We only have one or two people working in the kitchen. If someone orders 4 entrees, the prep time will be 5 minutes by the current algorithm (the prep time for one entree) - we can't get 4 of them done in 5 minutes, so we need the ability to combine the prep times. Otherwise we just have a default 45 minute prep time which is too long for most orders but long enough in the case of large orders, and we get phone calls asking when the food will be ready which is an inconvenience to us and the customer.

Bumping this. I run a cafe as well and have 5-minute prep times for my items. However, if someone orders 10 drinks, the prep time shouldn't still show a default 5 minutes for the whole order.
