I'd like to be able to update an ASAP pickup order time after it has been placed. People want their order as soon as possible, but when we are very busy I need to limit the amount of pickups per 15 minutes, so they get pushed out to a later time, which is great for large orders, but if I have a small order, it could go out much more quickly. Since each order set to take a specific amount of time despite the number of items purchased, I end up with orders that are ready much sooner than the estimated pickup time, which could be a problem for hot food sitting around until the customer arrives.

I believe that square can notify your customer when their order is ready. they must check the box allowing the use of text messages.

Hello @addys
With Square Online orders you can adjust the order pickup time.
From your Point of Sale, go to the Orders section and open the order you need to adjust. Look for the right-pointing arrow next to the pickup time listed. Tap that and you can change the time there. Your customer will get a text/email alert with the new time.
Please note this may not work for third party apps.
