Hi Seller Community!
I am excited to announce we have added a Disputes tracker to your online Square Dashboard that will provide more specific updates about the status of your disputes. This new Dispute Dashboard view provides more clarity during the entire process giving you agency and resources to address a dispute with your customer.
What is a dispute?
When you take a transaction, there is always a risk that your customer will dispute the charge. When your customer initiates a dispute, their bank contacts us to get more information about the transaction. Square doesn’t decide the final outcome of payment disputes - our aim is to help you send relevant evidence to your customer’s bank that gives you the best chance of protecting your hard-earned sale.
How do I track Disputes?
If you are notified about a dispute, you can log in directly to the Dispute Dashboard to follow the process. From there, you’ll be able to check on current status of the dispute, and review next steps in the dispute process. Additionally, all documents provided to Square can be viewed on the Disputes Dashboard for you to access.
We hope this new Dispute tracker will help ease the stress that can come from receiving a dispute. Learn more about the dispute process and disputes FAQs in the Support Centre. If you have any questions, let us know below!
