Square Terminal will not load

My terminal is fully charged and I have already done a full factory reset.  I reconnect to the wifi and log into my Square account.  The terminal still freezes on a black screen with the Square logo and the letters "Powered by Square" underneath.  It will sit like this for hours and all I can do is turn off the device, restart the device, or do a factory reset and it still freezes on the same screen. Please Help!

Have you recently connected your Square Terminal to a device to take payments?

 

The Square logo and the letters "Powered by Square" imply you have connected your Terminal to a device such as a phone, computer, or tablet.

 

To unpair your Square Terminal from a POS device:

 

From the Square app, tap More > Settings > Hardware.
Select Square Terminal, then select the Square Terminal you want to unpair and tap Disconnect from this device.
Tap Disconnect to confirm.

 

To unpair your POS device from Square Terminal:

 

From the Square Terminal, swipe from the left to middle of the screen to open up the menu.
Tap Settings > Account > Sign Out.
