Separate music speaker stops playing when a transaction goes through on my square
So weird, after 6 years, this just started happening to us. Never had it happen before. We have a bluetooth speaker that we've used for as many years as our square system. Suddenly, now when the square reader connects to the internet to take a card, the music flips to the ipad square system. I've restarted everything, reconnected bluetooth connections and made sure all updates are current.

Please understand that volunteers here are not the same Tech or Customer Support however, there is a lot of hands-on experience here using Square's Apps and Hardware however, we sometimes have take a guess. Personally I've learned that things can change if there's been any updates to an APP and/or an operating system. Probably more info would be helpful - for example, what is your hardware setup (example - a Square Stand, iPad with Square's POS App, USB Hub, Contactless Chip and Card Reader and a Receipt Printer). In addition, you noted you're also using a Bluetooth speaker to play music - is the source of the music the native iOS Music App on your iPad and is that the only piece of hardware that's connected via Bluetooth? Last, are there any other Apps open on your iPad while you're processing transactions besides the music App? Hopefully, with more info, someone from the Community may have some insight.

Thanks! I have an ipad on a square stand with a square reader that is always plugged in, a bluetooth receipt printer and the bluetooth speaker. The music app is the apple music app. I have 5G internet at the shop with a pretty strong connection. The only apps open during use are the square for retail app and the apple music app.

Probably the only way to narrow things down is to do some methodical troubleshooting - note you may end up having to change your setup. For example, if you have a Square Stand, I'm assuming you have the USB Hub - can you connect your receipt printer to the hub via a cable instead of using Bluetooth ? You could also try another way of playing music. This way you'll only have one App open (Square POS) verses two. I'm guessing that a previous update may have had an affect on your current setup and you may just have to change your setup.
