Create a new Status for Subscriptions - Terminated

Create a new Status for Subscriptions - Terminated

When managing an existing Subscription the only options for invalidating it are Cancelation and Pause.

Cancelation does not cancel the subscription, just prevents renewal. The Subscription remains n effect until its expiration.

Pausing effectively extends the existing Subscription period.

There are case when we want to the Subscription to actually end immediately. The two most obvious reasons for this:

  • Non - payment of Subscription fee
  • Violation of Subscription/Membership agreement.

I propose a new Subscription status TERMINATED. Terminating a subscription immediately ends it, effectively moving the end date to now and setting the status to Terminated.

Welcome back to the Community, @wyldbill

This is excellent feedback on your changing your statuses and how it's actually affecting your subscriptions.

As of now, this isn't currently planned for Subscriptions. Adding your voice to this board allows our Product Team to evaluate these Feature Request, so I appreciate your time for posting.

Once more information becomes available, a Community Moderator will update the status letting you know. I would recommend the email notifications when someone replies, so you can stay in the loop.

Hello.  Completely agree that, as a vendor, we need to have the option to immediately terminate a customer relationship.  There could be health and safety considerations.  Having a cancellation scheduled for up to 30 days out is not ideal.  What if we are concerned that having a customer being able to return to our facility will impact our staff and other customers?  It does not seem reasonable that Square gets to decide that we (as the vendor) need to continue a customer relationship?  There are numerous scenarios where we need to exit a customer relationship immediately,  instead of waiting up to one month.  If we decide to refund what a customer has already paid for the month, we need to be able to exit the customer relationship with immediate effect.
