@Julia17 same thing just happened to me. I have late fees and penalties due to square not filing for the 3rd quarter of 2024. How did they resolve your case? Did they cover the fees for not filing? Square told me that I would have to pay the fees which is crazy as I am paying them to do their job right.

Ok here is what they told me:
"I reviewed the assessment you sent over and saw it is in regards to Quarter 3 2024. Payroll tax payments and filings are made in accordance with the pay date, not the pay period. Since your first payroll through Square had a pay date of October 07, 2024, we did not file your Quarter 4 taxes on your behalf. I recommend contacting your previous provider or EDD to resolve any outstanding filings.
If you did not have a prior payroll provider before joining with Square, we recommend contacting EDD to resolve any outstanding filings. They may have you make a $0 filing."
So it looks like I am good. I just need to file the report myself for quarter 3 and put down that I didn't run payroll in quarter 3.
