I want to deduct $2 for consumable supplies from the service fee before the commission calculates.  How do I do this?

Hello @nailboxok

and welcome to our Seller Community! We're always thrilled to see new faces.

A specific amount cannot be deducted before commissions are calculated.

You can opt to exclude discounts, taxes and processing fees from the amount used to calculate commissions.

If you deduct all three, your commissions will be calculated using the following formula: (sale price – discounts – taxes – Square payment processing fee) × service commission rate = employee commission.

You can set up a different commission rate for items and services for each team member.

One workaround you could use here is setting your "consumable supplies" as an item rather than including it in the service price, and adjusting the commission rates to pay the percentage you want your team members to earn on services and 0% on items.

This way, your team members would earn a commission on the service price, but not the consumable supplies item.

For example: If your service currently has a price of $100, of which $2 are your consumable supplies, you'd want to make your service price $98, then during every sale, add the consumables supplies item (price $2). Team members only earn commissions on services, so they will only be earning commissions on the $98.

Let me know if this information is helpful.

Thank you

Thank you Mary. That is the only work around I found as well.  Just that we still have to remember to add the consumable to each transaction.
