How does my employee login to the online dashboard? They have Dashboard permissions, but how do they login?

Yes, they are the same credentials. If you have an email/password for the app, these are the same credentials for the dashboard on the computer.
If your wife/user has the right permissions set up (i.e., they have the permissions and dashboard access point), they should be able to access the dashboard. If you're having difficulty, please reach back out here and I can help.

Hey @shopinwrapments,
Once a team member profile is created, they will receive an invitation email to create a Square account or log into an existing account, receive their personal passcode for the Square Point of Sale app, and download the Square Team App.

That lets a Invited employee Login to the Square POS and other Apps, but the question was to log into the Square Dashboard. The Square Dashboard is through a Computer not the App.
I have put in a Ideate for this to allow Employees to login to the Square Dashboard to help with Inventory counts. Since this can be done with an Ipad and a Scanner, but I can not plug my USB Scanners into an Ipad and cannot carry around my Square stand and all the wires to do Inventory. Now I could use Chromebooks and Laptops with USB scanners and move around and Count Inventory. My Point is not all Invetory that needs to be counted is within USB cord length of most retail stores POS device. Register or Square Stand.
So the answer to the Question is that an Employee can not Log in to the Main Dashboard only the owner can. Or the owner risks giving Owner Password to an employee and changing the Bank Account information. There are things that can only be done OR work better through the Dashboard and a Computer than using these apps to get things done. ie Reports look better printed on 8.5 x 11 than on a Receipt roll. Just a quick Example, Maybe a Manager needs to look at reports of Hours worked, to avoid overtime and this is better displayed on a full computer screen or on a Full sized sheet of paper, or maybe needs to set up a PO or Scan in paperwork when they receive orders. So walking from Back office to the POS Device is not effecient.
But maybe if @shopinwrapments explains why they would like an employee to log in to the Square Dashboard this could also give more tracaction for my Ideate, or we can explain how this can be done in the app.

Hey Keith,
When they receive the invite and are able to create an account/login successfully from the invite link, they can use the same credentials (Email/password or phone number password) to login to the Dashboard.
They do NOT need to use the owner account credentials. Their permissions will apply to the login on the same ID that they accept the invite from.

That is new to me.... I sent my wife a employee sign in and never knew these were the same for the dashboard on a computer. I will have to check this out tonight. But if that is the case why did no one inform me of this on the Ideate board since early last month? That would have been very USEFUL then.
Is there any documentations on this because I searched for that before putting the Ideate in and found nothing.

That ACTUALLY WORKED!!!!! 🙂
Sorry this caught me really off guard because I talk to support in late November or early December 2023 to see about this and they said that it would be securuty issue. I asked again in Febuary and Before putting in the Ideate in March and was told that you could not do this because the permissions for users are for apps not the Dashboard. No status update on my ideate until you updated it today. Informing us this is now possible.

So is there a way for them to know their password to login if they've been employees for a long time? I've had someone working for me for a long time, but she's always had to use my login. This would be so handy, but I'm sure she doesn't remember if she did this when she started. Thanks for any information!

You'll need to create their team member profile with a valid email. Once you complete the profile, they'll receive an email so they can set up their credentials to log in.
