@Classrm6 Welcome to the community, I don't use a scanner/scale, but I did find 2 Square help pages on setting up the Magellan scanner scale, hopefully these will solve your problem.

Hey, was this issue ever resolved for you? I manage the company, posguys.com who is referenced in the Squareup Article: Set up and connect a scanner-scale with Square for Retail Go to Step 1: Choose your hardware and those three listed scales link back to my company.
We also have a direct relationship with Datalogic and had their engineers in our office this past Tuesday, 6/18/24. Between Datalogic and our Support Team, this scale does not work with Square for Retail as far as we can tell.
We have called Square numerous times, reached out to our respective corporate contacts, and we have gotten no where except for empty promises of callbacks by Square engineers from Tier 2 support reps who did not believe me.
I am posting here hoping to get the attention of someone who can help POSGuys and DataLogic figure out why our customers are calling us complaining about scales purchased from my company as recommended in the above article when they do not work.
Please let us know what we need to do to work with Square to move past this. I can have Datalogic engineers or someone from POSGuys support team reach out to whomever.
Thank you,

Hey @MGM-POSGuys,
Thanks for bringing this to the attention of the Community.
I want to make sure we are on the same page. You manage the company that sells Magellan scanners, as listed in the article above, but your device is no longer compatible with Square software or specifically with Square for Retail.
Is that correct?

Did you ever get this resolved ?
we just spent $3,000+ on pair of 9600i to grow our store - followed set up to a tee and got no response for square for retail.
9400i is being phased out in favor of the 9600i and square claims it’s compatible but that doesn’t seem to be the case

Yes we did get this working the key component is the USB to Serial converter cable, the Square register and Square stand use different cables and you can't interchange them.

Do you have photo of the components ? We actually ordered our 9600i from POS guys
We used :
1)

2) Scanner Scale Cable for Single Cable Mode RS-232 ICL PC 4.5 m/15 ft (9 PIN). For Datalogic Magellan. (90A052121)
