I have been open for a year. Occasionally, the POS would reboot or go offline. Lately, the system has been doing it pretty often. When it reboots it is usually in the middle of a payment. Going offline is just random, but last Saturday it went offline and people were still ordering online and my kitchen was not getting tickets.
I am thinking wiring it to the Ethernet will alleviate some of this issue, but is this also a hardware issue? And if it is, what is the solution? Thanks.

I'm not sure if you can wire the stands to your router directly.
Have you checked to make sure there are no app updates?

Hi Pointbreaktacos,
Have to agree with @alexandriak about the Ethernet option, my Square POS stand setup uses an iPad which connects wirelessly to a router - no options for Ethernet on my setup. From past experience, the issue may be with your router - seems whenever our router has issues, our POS iPad will disconnect from the network and then reconnect - sorry, have not seen a "reboot" on the iPad itself per say however, rebooting the router seems to clear up the issue as a temporary fix. When our network gets a bit squirrelly on a regular basis, then in most cases it's the router. As we lease our router, getting it replaced is as easy as a phone call. One option for troubleshooting is to setup your phone as a hotspot thus bypassing your router and see what happens. Doing so will narrow down where the issue may be. Could be your tablet or possibly the POS Stand itself.
Note, as we don't have any idea of your hardware setup, this is simply a suggestion assuming you have a similar setup as the one we have.

Wanted to come back and add to this that we've had a lot of issues with Comcast (internet provider) here lately. I'm not sure where you are but if you also happen to have Comcast it's a them issue. I've had them out multiple times, gotten a new router, etc but something seems to be interrupting my wifi signal from time to time. No idea what it could be, and it could be literally anything.
