Receipt Printing Line by Line Discount

Has anyone noticed the new feature that creates a line by line by line by line discount vs. a total discount at the bottom?

This is ONE receipt - it shows two additional lines for the discount.

I called support to ask why/how to turn it off and was told that it is a new feature that cannot be turned off.

It's absolutely ridiculous and uses even more paper than we are already using.

Has anyone else seen this?

Is there a way to get this feature turned off????

Thanks in advance

Yes, Yes, Yes!!! Most confusing receipt EVER!!  Replying to hopefully have square fix this.

We had a party of 10 drinking/apps during Happy Hour - was the longest most confusing receipt ever.  Thankfully they were regulars.  I'm embarrassed with the way our receipts our printing now.  I could understand if we were a retail store why the line discount might be a good thing but for a restaurant, it's not a good look to have a mile receipt.  Makes them think they spent more than they have!

Maybe if more people commented on this thread - square might fix back to the old receipt!

I agree that this should be an option to show or hide the line by line discount. I actually don't mind it showing for our business but I have another problem that makes me want to hide it.

If I add a flat discount at the end of a sale, it splits the discount across every item on the sale. It still woundn't be a big deal if it would split the discount evenly but it doesn't. For some reason it puts a different amount on each item.

On the first receipt I attached below I added a $2.00 discount to the sale but for some reason it put $0.90 on one item and $1.10 on the other. On the second receipt I added a $4.00 discount but again the amount added to each item is different. This can be confusing to the customer (and me) but if I can hide the discount on each item it would help. Luckily I found in the dashboard a setting to show a total savings line at the bottom to help.

Just a heads up, there is now an option in the square dashboard settings to hide the line by line discounts.
