Is there a way to use my phone camera to scan bar codes for mobile sales?

Hi, I operate both brick and mortar and mobile sales at events.  Is there a way to use my phone or ipad camera to scan upc bar codes at my mobile events?  I have a bar code reader in my brick and mortar stores.  Having to manually input a 12 digit upc code at offsight events is cumbersome.  TYIA for ideas.

Yes, the Square for Retail app has the ability to scan a barcode for mobile sales (circled in blue). It works great. You should definitely check it out!

I have the square for retail app, but that icon does not appear.  Do you know if there is something I need to do to activate this feature or allow in permissions? I have given Square for retail app permission for my camera and it still does not appear in the app.

iOS or Android? (I don't even know if there is an Android app, I use iOS)

I just had a chat with Square support about this topic. Their response: "Unfortunately, scanning UPC using your iPhone isn’t currently available with Square. We are constantly improving the product based on feedback like this, so I’ll be sure to share your thoughts with our Product team. Feel free to share your feedback and how it’ll help your business via our Seller Community."
