How to return an item without a receipt....??

I have read similar posts asking the same question.  I hope Square has resolved this and I am just missing it. Please advise....

Hi Cofi,

 

I'm not sure that the return of item without a receipt is a Square issue.  It's up to the seller as to how a scenario such as this handled.  First, do you have an established policy for returns?  Many businesses will offer credit or a Gift Card or do an exchange of same / equal value within a specified time period.   Working with the customer is the key to keeping everyone happy.  A not so happy customer or sometimes a not so honest customer may decide to simply do a chargeback through their credit card issuer - when this happens, it's even a bigger headache for you as they can end up with the item and their money back.  Just my thoughts of course and I'm sure others here may have some advice too.

@CofI Are you asking how to do a return without a receipt? If they paid with a credit card, then you can go to Transactions and from there you could enter their card number to find the transaction to do a return.

 

If asking about policy of doing a return without a receipt. We have it printed on our receipt the allowed days to do a return, item must still have the tags, not worn and must have a receipt.
