How do I delete a customer from current transaction without emptying the cart?

Well, this is irritating! I add a customer to a transaction but then they want to apply their loyalty points to a friend. How do I then change the customer name on the current transaction. 

 

Please don’t give me the solution of going in after the transaction. I want a real time solution.

Hi there, @mixonmaine 👋

On the Square for Retail POS App, you can remove a customer from a sale before the payment is taken and add a new customer to that existing sale. This allows you to change the customer on the current sale while keeping the items in the cart unchanged.

Here’s how:

 

1. From the cart, tap the name of the customer you wish to remove.
2. Click on the box that says Personal Information.

3. Select Remove from sale.
4. From the cart, tap Add customer to add a new customer to the sale.

The screenshots above are from an iPhone running the Square for Retail POS App (Version 6.47.1). If you're using an iPad or Square Register and encounter any differences, please let me know.


Once the payment is taken, the only available actions are as follows:

- From your online Square Dashboard, you can manually remove a customer from a transaction and add another customer. However, this won’t automatically transfer points to the new customer’s loyalty profile.
- From the online Square Dashboard or Square for Retail POS App, you can manually add or remove points from customers’ loyalty profiles.

Don't think there is a real time solution other than doing a new transaction, lets see if some of the other volunteer members have some thoughts.
