If I am not longer using my Square, can I sell it to someone else or is it linked to me somehow forever?

Please see @VanKalkerFarms' reply below. The chip reader is not tied to any specific account, it only acts as a data transmission device to send the card's information to the device. It's the account into which the device is logged that determines what business gets the information. You can safely sell or give away your reader with no repercussions at all to yourself.

I'm not sure which unit you are referring to. The kiosk you put your ipads in, is just a kiosk. The ipad is just an ipad. You can log out, and log into a different account any time you want, so the unit would be transferable to anyone. Just make sure you've logged out and deleted your personal login saved password if there is one saved.
As for the newer square terminals that have their own tablets built into them, I believe it is the same. You merely have to log out and have the new person log in with their account.

Hi @pauperco! Thanks for reaching out! You will need to go to Settings and click "Log Out." It will likely be in the top right hand corner of your screen. Let me know if you have any other questions. 🙂

Yes, as stated by @BAPS once you log out of an iPad or Square Register or Square terminal your account is no longer associated with that device. as for readers they have no tie to the account either, just to whatever device it is paired with.

Hey @Sweetpeanco,
I moved your post to an existing thread where another seller had the same question.
Check out the answers above.
