@Seamus we do add the customer to every transaction but when I go to reconcile the payments for the day, you cannot view the customer name on the transaction. I can't go to the customer service because I don't know which ones came. Again, I do the the customer to the transaction and I can't understand why it wouldn't be in the transaction in the app since I put it there. Attached is a screen shot where I would expect it to be. How do I get this request in the development pipeline? Many people that own clinics would find value in this

I think what we are saying is that we shouldn’t have to retype the customer name and other details into a not field when the transaction is already linked to a client then you should be able to just pull the details from the client file. Lots of business owners would benefit from this functionality. The data is already there so it’s just a matter of add client at point of sale and select client and the. showing the field on the receipt. How do we get this prioritised @Seamus ?

Hey @lebodano,

I took a further look into this - I was testing on iOS and it looks like you're using Android. I was able to test on an Android device and you're correct, the customer's name does not appear on the Android app where it does on the iOS version.

I took a further look into it, and it turns out this is unfortunately a limitation of the Android app in its current form. It looks like our team are aware of the issue - I don't have an ETA on when it may be available, but I will keep following this one and let you know when I hear anything more about the feature.

Hey Lizsarbo,

I can understand that having the option to automatically include a customer's name on the receipt would be very useful for sellers who regularly do this!

I'm able to pass your feedback on as a feature request - the more feedback our product development teams receive about feature requests, the more likely they are to be prioritised for building in the future. Our product teams determine which new features they build based on a number of different factors.

While we're not able to give a time frame for feature requests, I will comment and tag everyone who has requested this feature in this thread if I hear more on it in the future!

Ok that's a work around. Thanks. But again it feels very clunky. I have clients that at the time say they don't want  a receipt and then months later will contact me and ask for a receipt. At this point it is too late to add as the payment has been processed. So again. I have manually edit the file. 15min of my life. Not a big deal but they add up.

Also the problem is I switched to the appointments app so the clients details were enetered by them at the time of booking so i don't need to manually enter every clients details after booking. But i checked on the appointments app checkout and they have 'appointment notes'. Is this the same? If i enter their details will it appear on their receipt? See: https://ibb.co/zmBW7FR

ALSO: when replying to forum, after i hit post every second time it says error and my comment is lost meaning i have to write this out again. Every post on this forum here i had to write twice.

Hey @aFormOfTruth,

The notes section on Appointments will add the note to the appointment listing itself within Square Appointments, rather than on the receipt that goes to the customer. As far as I know there is no way to add a note to the receipt when it's being processed via Appointments.

Are you able to PM me a screenshot of the error you're seeing when trying to post to this forum? It's not one I've encountered before! It may be a browser issue or something else, happy to take a further look!

Hi Guys

My little cafe is currently doing local delivery and take away and trying to use square.  We take a phone call, enter the customer details into the system or add the customer to the order and send.  Production docket prints, invoice/payment slip prints.  All good so far.

However, the address for delivery is nowhere to be seen.

How do I add the customer details ie name and address to the invoice?  Dining options are included with the system such as "Have Here" "To Go" & "Delivery" but from what I've found so far they are just placeholders and don't have any other function.  What tick box or radio button do I need to select to make it happen?

Cheers

Pete

Hey @PBarras,

I've moved your message to this thread as the solution to use the notes section is the same process you'd follow when taking an order over the phone and processing it via the Point of Sale app. Any info you add to the notes section will appear on the printed receipt!

I will update this thread if I hear of a solution whereby this info can be drawn from the customer directory to appear on the receipt, it's been a popular feature request and we're tracking feedback.

Hey @Seamus  Any update you can provide on the gap between ios and android app displaying (or not displaying) customer name on the transaction via mobile app? Looking for ETA on resolution if possible!

Hey @lebodano,

I've not heard anything more about this feature request unfortunately. For now I recommend signing into the online dashboard on the Android device to view this transaction info - I know it's not as convenient as how the iOS app works, but it's one workaround!
