What do I need to do to get Microsoft Bing to show my favicon on search results? It is working perfectly on Google Search, but not with Bing. My site has been verified by Bing and has indexed over 200 pages. And it has been several weeks now. All of that seems to be working, but still can't get it to display the favicon.

Hi all @JohnDHamilton @TheRealChipA @warner_mark - Thanks for surfacing this.
I checked in with the Square Online support team. They let me know that, unfortunately, we don't have any control over Bing's search results. We recommend reaching out to Bing's support or an SEO expert to assist with getting your Bing results updated. Their team also mentioned that you may be able to check here to see if there is any information or way to contact Bing for support.
I hope this is helpful 🙏

Hi again @JohnDHamilton - I took this back to our Square Online team. They double-checked with our Advance Support Team as well. They've let me know that if you have a favicon uploaded, it should apply no matter which web browser you're using. You can find more info regarding the favicon here in our Support Center.
Specifically, any issues the Bing search is having with the favicon would require you to reach out to an SEO expert or someone at Bing.

Hey @JohnDHamilton. Good question! Until I read your post, I hadn’t realized that my favicon wasn’t showing on Bing results, either. I did a little digging and came up with this screen shot in Microsoft help. My guess is that Square isn’t meeting all of these requirements for our websites, hence no favicon display. I’m going to tag a few Square moderators to explore this with the Ecom team. Maybe they can give us some insights.

This is great detective work, Chip! I also use Square for my ecommerce store and would love to get my favicon showing up in Bing search results. Thanks for reaching out to the Square mods - hopefully they have some insights to share.

@_Violet But…. The screen shot above lists what Bing’s support page says is required to display a favicon in their search results. That screen shot is from their tech support page. It says we do have control over displaying it and those are the steps that need to be done in order for it to be displayed.
So in this case I call foul. It seems Square could do those steps on our sites when we publish a favicon and all would be well.
I’m sorry to be harsh, but that was the most non-answer kicking the can down the road thing I’ve ever read.
smh

Hi Violet,
While it is true that you do not have any control over Bing's search results, that's not what this about. I'm simply asking how to configure Square Online so that it will display my Favicon on Bing just as it does on Google. Google is working perfectly, so I know the platform is capable, and I'm sure I just need to configure something to make it work for Bing. Could you please ask around to see if someone else has run into this? I can't imagine that you don't have other customers where this is working.
Based on my limited knowledge, the piece that appears to be missing in the requirement is that the URL of the favicon file is not showing in my sitemap.xml. I believe that if that can somehow be added to the sitemap, then Bing will be able to show it. How do I add that URL to my sitemap.xml file?
