Square Online Updates and Questions
Hi
Some very critical Updates would really love to see rolled out. For context - we are a multi location, weekend deli takeout.
1) Holiday / Seasonal Menus
Need the option to have pre-order capability that limits the customers to be able to order holiday menu for a specific holiday date in the future. For ex, Thanksgiving Menu, currently online together with our reg menus, but need to restrict ordering of that menu to be allowed only for Thanksgiving day.
Currently, the thanksgiving menu is online as a separate category. Customer able to order ahead anytime, and website does not limit/force them to select Thanksgiving day for the order.
2) On the same note as #1, when we do "on the road pop ups" whether at a farmers market or another town for a specific occasion, would love the same feature as above. Specific menus for specific dates (currently only allows limiting to day of week + time)
3) Scheduled Deliveries w/on demand partners (postmates, doordash):
This is the most critical piece that im eagerly awaiting to be rolled out. We utilize Square "on demand delivery partners,
Most of our clients order earlier in the week for their weekend takeout, however there in no option for them to schedule ahead the delivery few days out (scheduled pickups is allowed only). it doesnt give any flexibility to the customer when it comes to delivery, it forces them into a specific delivery window few hours out (based on the prep time parameters we set on the backend).
Often we hear back in the order notes section, "im not going to be home then, please deliver at xyz time", after they placed their On demand delivery order and the postmates driver is already assigned an enroute. This obviously reflects bad on us when we have to promptly contact the customer and explain how the delivery is not controlled by us, driver is already on the way etc...
I have been told that this is being worked on and to be rolled out in Q4 2020, but
I really hope it actually is coming soon.
