I'm building a store for a restaurant. This restaurant only accepts pick-up orders. The problem is items on the square online website say out of stock. I tried restocking items to a higher value. But it did not work. When I tick shipping and pickup both on items editor out-of-stock label is gone.
What is the possible reason for this?
What is the correct way to set up an item for a restaurant that accepts only pickup orders?
PS- I have found a solution. Found out that I have not set up a pickup option on the dashboard. 🙈 After completing that and removing the tracking stock option all good now. 😇

clearly this is a running issue i have spent my enitre BLACK FRIDAY dealing with customer service who literally does nothing but basically republishes it and this is ridiculous.

Do you happen to have Square Sync turned off? This is the setting that will sync updates to your items from the Square Dashboard to your Online Store Items.

this happened to me and it clearly is an issue. and yes i read EVERY comment and went thru the troubleshooting and had to call customer service and they had to escalate it. please have someone fix whatever it is becuase i have wasted the entire BLACK FRIDAY dealing with this and now have annoyed customers, look unprofessional, and lost sales. RIDICULOUS! unprofessional ESPECIALLY FOR A PAID SERVICE!

Has anyone figured out how to get rid of the out of stock issue?
I am trying to offer packages deals - like a gift certificate - and my inventory tracking is off, fulfillment is set for self serve, since they will only have a receipt not a physical item. and it still tells me out of stock. It is not a physical item it is a digital receipt, so frustrating. I sent out emails with the checkout link and now I am getting calls and I have no idea what to tell my patients.

Thank you for sharing this @Hopewacup. It looks like your fulfillment types aren't setup yet.
To correct this you can go to the Online section of your Square Dashboard and then select Fulfillment. From there you will be able to set up your preferred method. Afterward, you can head back to your Items and select the respective fulfillment type.
This change will show the item available to purchase.

So how am I supposed to set this up? There is nothing to ship, nothing to deliver, and nothing to pickup. It is just a Gift Certificate or a receipt that they can print.

There are two routes you could take. One would be to set this item up as a digital item (currently set as physical which requires fulfillment). The second choice would be to move to start using Square eGift Cards.

I am having the same issue. It is fixed when I have enabled pickup as a fullfillment option, but I am a home based business and do not feel comfortable with my address being public. I can ship, or arrange delivery or meetup at a public location. Is there a way around this? Oddly enough I have fixed it all before, and each time I add new items for sale, it messes up other products. Please help. I have spent so many hours building this website, which is supposed to go live in 2 days, and I do not want to have to spend the same amount of time using a different POS system and webpage. Tracking stock is something I have to do in order to keep up when more products need to be made and I want to know the value of my inventory. I am paying $79 a month for my subscription, this is ridiculous.

I don't know if this is a good option or not. But you can go to fulfilment - pickup & delivery and set the location to a public place you are comfortable with. So you can use that place to offer all pickup orders 🙂

Our items keep going OUT OF STOCK even though I have tried everything to turn off stock status and these items weren't even purchased! Even if I receive stock still shows out of stock online. I'm so tired of this. This shouldn't be this hard. For the last year all I ever hear is that people can't buy online. I mean seriously, wtf is the point of an online site when everything DEFAULTS to out of stock! Figure it out already.
None of these answers have helped me, I've tried them all. Here is an example of an item I can NOT get to be in stock on the site:

I know there are a lot of replies for this issue here... i solved mine by a solid review of my shipping setup, realized I was a cotton headed ninny muggins, and had missed a few things.
Not a super insightful tip, but just offering in case it helps anyone.
