Selling digital files that are automatically emailed to purchaser.

Selling digital files that are automatically emailed to purchaser.

I would like to see a feature on square.

I would like to sell downloadable digital files, where an automated email goes out with the file link right after check out.  I would be able to have one more way to have sales in my business.  I am a hypnotist and don't have a way to sell digital files through my website.  I don’t know how to sell digital files through square.

Is there still not a way to have an item specific email automatically sent after a customer purchases on the square site?

Hello all, after some digging I kept seeing that there is no option for Square users to have automatic files sent to customers after they purchase a digital product in shop. However, I did come across Bitship which seems to fix the issue on a basic level and allows Square integrations. Bitship seems fairly new, given that there aren't many features available and live chat/customer service seems like a ghost town there. Paid plans do provide more options but my issue is with digital products that have variants. Almost all my products have variants that require different files to be attached to the correct variants. Though you can't attach different files to specific variants, only files to the product as a whole, which is an issue for me. Even within their paid plans I don't recognize a solution for this issue and I hope they provide options for variants.

On another note, it doesn't make sense to me how Square would have an option for digital products to be sold but no option for instant file delivery? It really doesn't add up here.. I hope they provide this option soon as it looks like people have gone without it for years. I would think it was a simple thing to provide and fix on this platform but I suppose not. Anywho, looking forward to some changes this year regarding that. If there are any updates I hope I will hear from them here.

@biglizconjure - I tried to set up my digital download as an event and put the one drive link in the event link, but it said it wasn't valid.  Maybe it's looking for zoom in the link?  If you get it to work, let me know what you did.

Hi @rudeysd,

Thanks for reaching out to us with your interest in this feature!

This feature is in high demand for Square Online, and to centralize discussions, I've merged your post with an existing thread on the same topic. Rest assured, when we have any updates or news to share regarding this feature, we'll promptly update the thread.

In the meantime, we'll continue to advocate for this request with our Product Team as new votes are received.

Hi Rudey. Thank you for trying out Bitship! We default to allowing users to create mappings between files and individual item variations. Please reach out at contact (at) bitship.app and we can help you with onboarding.

We have many educational pieces that we've created with the intent of offering them as paid downloads, we need an option to have them automatically sent out at purchase.

Fantastic seeing @Bitship here! I stumble upon their video a couple of weeks ago and I was about to ask if anyone had used their platform and what their experiences were. I'll keep an eye on this thread.

Has this been resolved or is it still the same where we have to email our digital item to the client after they purchase? There's really no automation?

Apparently, there is no solution, yet! Square must feel that customer retention is more expensive than customer acquisition.

Are there any updates to this request? I feel as though Square Online is really missing out on opportunities by not having an automated system.
