Hello, I sell via Square Online (free version) & today when I went to the Online section > Orders - where I normally then go into each individual order & send receipts for reminders to my customers for their item pick up.. It announced that new Square Order Management via Dashboard would be coming 3/1/24. So I went to try it out, & upon trying to send a receipt it sends me to the Transaction page..ok? Then when I go to again Send Receipt (Which is an option on the pop up in the previous page) It wants me to enter their email.
Is there a work around? Is this going to be the standard? I get change comes, but to then go as far to make it more difficult from just simple pushing "Send receipt" to the email THEY ALREADY INPUT, we have to input it again?
I know that when they order they get a "Thank You for Your Order" via Square essentially, but I also like sending a 2nd one for reassurance that they have the info I added to my receipts & they're reminded that their purchase will soon be ready.

@BeeGalvin thanks for the feedback. Right now, that will be the standard experience. As you've noted, confirmation emails to your buyers will continue to be sent automatically when they place their order. If you progress the order to the 'shipped' or 'ready for pickup' stages, buyers will automatically get another email informing of that status change as well.
For sellers who have order text message alerts enabled, the same actions in Order Manager will trigger text alerts, too.
There aren't near-term plans to change the receipt functionality on the Transactions page to restrict it to only sending the receipt to the email address on the order (like the functionality on the old Online Orders page), but I value your detailed feedback (especially you sharing why you want this changed) and we're regularly looking for recurring themes in the feedback we get to prioritize enhancements. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this is causing you and will leave a comment here if this functionality ends up being changed.

Thank you for the information! - May I suggest to at least have the transaction receipt information (on the right hand of the page when you select an order) contain more of the Customer's Information? Because as of right now I only essentially have their name listed & not their emails. So I would have to then go into another screen or print off a report to find each email, go back to the transaction "send receipt" and type in their preferred email. It just seems like a lot when the functionality of "Send receipt" is a one step process when in the Online > Orders screen
I already wish there was a way to mass send receipts (the ones you create with colors & added information) & a way to print mass receipts lol Generally my process for notifying my customers with the "send receipt" function for a reminder, I'll print at the same time since it's been the only option I've had. I can't use the "ready for pickup" because people would come too early, or it would be too late of a reminder for some who may have forgotten. The 24 hours before has been a good rule of thumb for me.
