Is there a way to limit the States an item or category can ship or be sold to at the online store?

All of the items at my online are available to be sold and shipped to the within the United States. I would like to offer a couple of items that would have to be restricted for sale to just the state I'm in. Is it possible to setup an item (or category) with that restriction....so it wouldn't allow an out of state order for that item?

It's not possible to add shipping rules per item at this time. You can restrict the states you ship to by editing the shipping region, but the rules will apply to the entire store. Are the items oversized, or do they require a special shipping service? We might be able to help you come up with an alternative suggestion if you provide an example item that can only be shipped within your state. Thanks!
